LAN8720A-CP-TR is a highly integrated 10/100M Ethernet Physical Layer (PHY) transceiver from Microchip in an ultra-compact QFN-24 package (3x3mm), with built-in 50MHz clock oscillator and voltage regulator - one of the smallest Ethernet PHYs with built-in clock on the market.
The chip is default-configured for RMII interface, requiring only 7 pins to connect to MAC controllers (TXD[0:1], RXD[0:1], REFCLK, CRS_DV, TXEN), greatly simplifying wiring and saving microcontroller pin resources. HP Auto-MDI/X automatically handles cable polarity - no manual distinction needed.
LAN8720A is fully IEEE 802.3/802.3u compliant with EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) low-power protocol, power consumption below 315mW, operating temperature range -40C~+85C - widely used in industrial IoT, smart home and communication terminals.
